Wow, was 2011 a busy year for me. Because Eli was in school, I ramped up my hours at work from 20 to 30 hours a week to full-time starting in September. I can tell because I haven’t heard of any of the New York Times top 10 books for 2011:
The Art of Fielding, Chad Harbach
11/22/63, Stephen King
Swamplandia!, Karen Russell
Ten Thousand Saints, Eleanor Henderson
The Tiger’s Wife, Téa Obreht
Arguably, Christopher Hitchens
The Boy in the Moon, Ian Brown
Malcolm X, Manning Marable
Thinking, Fast and Slow, Daniel Kahneman
A World on Fire, Amanda Foreman
I didn’t have time to read any of them, although I admittedly am engrossed right now in the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Have you read any of the New York Times best books this year?
In related news, our Dana over at Mombian published the top lesbian and gay parenting books of the year. What is on your night table?
