C-section?

Hey MT'ers So I know I have not been an active member here since I joined but I promise I have been lurking everyday and enjoying all the great diaries:)Hopefully you all can give me some great insight and support. I am currently 34 weeks and 4 days and am looking at a possible C-section. According to my MD, baby is still feeling externally like she is breech and if at my next appointment (36 wks) he does not feel a head when he does the cervical check we will need to talk about a C-section. I am trying to wrap my head around the idea and am having only a little success. I foolishly looked at the internet regarding breech presentations and learned quickly that was NOT a wise plan. (The words prematurity and birth defect jumping out were not encouraging to say the least:) Anyways, was just hoping for some good C-section and healthy recovery stories since the prospect of being bed ridden for 6 weeks makes me nervous.  Thanks for any support or info!:)

avoiding a c-section

My Mom had three c-sections, I was her first kid and after laboring with me for 26 hours, I was "from my mother's womb untimely ripped.." This was of course 1977, and there were no VBACs. My sisters all came out of Mom's scar, affecionately known as "the zipper".

I know a c-section is not the end of the world, but recently it has come up between me and my OB and midwives. Frankly, I don't know much about c-sections. I never thought I'd need one as I birthed Darling Girl pretty easily. However, she was a 6 pound little peanut and my Ultraound estimates for the new baby are hovering at 8 pounds three ounces, and I have 3 more weeks to go!
