Pet Peeves Part 2
I have noticed that, for better or worse, California is often the birthplace of trends.
So I am curious to know if these windshield stickers are all the rage in other parts of the country.
I first noticed them in California about 18 months ago. As you can see, their purpose is to announce to the world that Mommy, Daddy, Jaden, Caden, Spot and Fluffy are riding by in their giant, gas-guzzling SUV (a generalization, yes, but I've noticed 9 times out of 10, that's the type of vehicle sporting these stickers in my neck of Orange County).
I don't know why, but I find them cloying. Another big trend is pairs of flip flops-- bigger ones to symbolize the grown-ups, little ones for the kiddies. Or sticker family of sea turtles. Or Hibiscus flowers. The whole thing leaves me puzzled.
I have yet to see a vulgar display like the one in the picture, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time. In the meantime, I will have to settle for the giant truck I see parked at the gym every time I go. The back windshield is covered in a giant sticker that reads, "My Other Ride Is Your Girlfriend."
Stay classy, America!
What do you all think? Are these family stickers sweet or silly? What about the ones that make it look like a soccer ball cracked your windshield? Which car decorations make the cut, and which should be verboten?
