Wednesday Morning Open Thread
What's up?
In case you missed it, there is a lettuce recall due to E.coli, according to MSN.
Texas lawmakers are debating lifting the cap on class size from 22 pupils per teacher, according to the Dallas Morning News. Based on this article, it wasn't clear to me how large the lawmakers are willing to make the classes. Does anyone know?
In other Texas news, the University of Texas in Austin is expected to lose 200 administrative jobs due to budget shortfalls, according to the Houston Chronicle.
Attention Illinois moms: the Paradise Mist Spa, which is connected to the KeyLime Cove Indoor Waterpark Resort in Gurnee, Illinois, is having a "Sex and the City" event on May 26 at 6 p.m. that sounds like fun. For a $15 admission, you could partake in mini manicures and pedicures, chair massages, appetizers and cosmopolitans, "Sex and the City" trivia, a lingerie trunk show, shoe fashion show, and beauty and nutrition tips from Chicagoland professionals. Also, the invitation encouraged women to dress up in their best outfits and shoes for a shoe contest. To RSVP, call 224-656-8130. The first 30 callers will receive a movie ticket to the premiere of "Sex and the City 2" at Regal Cinema in Round Lake Beach. I am jealous!
