Ed. note: Great diary...and lots of food for thought!
Okay, Abby is starting Middle School in the fall, turns 13 in November and we've realized that we are entering a whole new era of parenting. So, some observations and a few questions for the mothers that have been here before.
And can I just say that after being a parent for only two years I am not entirely sure I am ready for this?

Happy Monday, MTs. Please excuse a rather juvenile indulgence, but given my recent re-activation of my job as walking dairy, boobs have rather been on my mind. And it’s been one of those days where it feels like Lily’s surgically attached to my décolletage. So this will be a short, breast-obsessed post.
In the UK, a group calling themselves Busts 4 Justice have succeeded in a long running, pitched battle to get retailer Marks & Spencer to drop their £2 surcharge on bras larger than DD. Yes, ladies, the cups may runneth over, but the bank balance will stay secure, as reported in this article in the West Australian:
A British woman scored a spectacular “bra-wars“ victory when the country’s biggest fashion and lingerie retailer retreated from charging extra for larger bust sizes, declaring: “We boobed”.
Beckie Williams, 26, from Brighton, had threatened to confront the top executives of the Marks & Spencer (M&S) chain over the issue at a forthcoming annual meeting, for which she equipped herself with a single M&S share.
But on Friday, acutely aware of the growing success of Williams’ campaign, and the potential damage it could do to business, M&S launched a large-scale advertising campaign to announce that a surcharge of $A3.98 for sizes above a DD cup would be scrapped.
“Well, we were wrong...the storm in a D-cup is over!” said the full-page newspaper advertisements displaying a model wearing a green silky low-cut bra and declaring: “We boobed.”
Marks and Spencer said that the extra two pounds represented the added expense of engineering the bras to fit larger-breasted women.
What are you up to today?
If the Bra Fits

Well my dear MTers, I finally weaned DS. It’s been almost 2 weeks and he pulled through like a champ. Thanks for all of your support and encouragement. We were down to one nursing session just before bed and I realized that it was taking him much longer to fall asleep than it did before his naps. So, I made the decision that it was time to bid farewell to that phase of our lives. I cried during his last nursing session, but I made a point to try to savor the moment. I kept telling him to do the same, though being only 14 months old, I am not sure if he understood what I was trying to say. The following night he put up a little bit of a fuss when I didn't nurse him, but he was much more accepting than I thought he would be. The second night he didn't even look for it, which made me sad in one respect, but very happy that he was adjusting.
