Childcare At Netroots Nation!
Wed Feb 20, 2008 at 02:17:32 PM PDT
Hi all,
Just in case you are already making summer plans, I wanted to let you know that MotherTalkers will sponsor professional childcare at the Netroots Nation Convention in Austin this July. Barring any last-minute drop-ins, who would pay a small fee of no more than $50, babysitting will be FREE. Woo-hoo!
Here are the hours covered:
Thursday, July 17 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. (There is a scheduled party that night!)
Friday, July 18 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday, July 19 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday, July 20 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The childcare will be provided by Corporate Kids Events, who cared for Eli at the BlogHer conference when she was a mere four months of age. They are fabulous!
Babysitting at Netroots Nation?

Hi all,
MotherTalkers is considering sponsoring babysitting at Netroots Nation, depending on interest. Last time we met in Chicago, I attended another conference, in which I was able to leave Eli with babysitters provided by Corporate Kids Events. The sitters who took care of her were superb. I would poke in to nurse the baby and she was contently held the whole time from what I could gather. The organization even brought age-appropriate toys, activities and a TV, which kept the older children happy.
Babysitting at YKOS

I'll make this quick! My husband and I will be attending YKOS next week. We are bringing along our five-year-old and our two-year-old, with the understanding that we'll trade off child-duty during the caucuses, addresses, etc. (I'll be doing most of the child duty since my husband is WAY more active in Daily Kos than I am). We plan on taking the kids along to as many social events as possible, but at least one night we're there we'd like to leave them with a sitter.
My sister and her husband used to live in Chicago, but all her babysitting connections have run dry.
So--we're looking for some childcare arrangements for one evening.
If anyone who lives in the area or who is attending has any leads, I would greatly appreciate it!
You can post it up here or email me at marykkendrick at Yahoo dot com.
Thanks!
