Biz Week: Best Places To Raise Children
Lists, lists, oh how we love lists here at MotherTalkers. Business Week recently had a good one. What are the best places to raise children? The magazine ranked -- many of them unknown, at least to me -- spots in the country that boasted affordable and ample housing, good schools and low crime rates. They were:
Tinley Park, Illinois...
Runners-up: Arlington Heights, SchaumburgArcadia, California...
Runners-up: Monterey Park, Diamond BarWarner Robins, Georgia...
Runners-up: Valdosta, RoswellHonolulu, Hawaii...
Runners-up: HiloQuincy, Massachusetts...

Runners-up: San Antonio, Houston
The magazine gave detailed information after each city, including median salary, closest major city and other unique aspects of the community. I have not heard of most of these suburbs except for runner-up Schaumburg, Illinois, which is where my DH went to high school.
Do you live in any of these communities? What do you think? Would you recommend where you live to prospective parents?
