My favorite things

Wed Jun 20, 2007 at 09:52:53 AM PDT

I like products. I admit it. I like choices. I'm the kind of person who stares at the wall of lotion at Target and thinks, too bad they don't make exactly what I'm looking for. When I find a good product, it makes me happy. When they stop making it, I feel very sad.

Of course, we all know that Things Don't Matter and You Can't Buy Happiness. And I have all these theoretical objections to capitalism and consumerism but at the end of the day, I really do love a good product.

I think it would be fun to make a list of my favorite things (because thinking about my favorite things really does improve matters, as Rodgers and Hammerstein suggested). And I want to hear all about your favorite things, too!

Disclaimer: I am not a paid endorser of any of the products listed below but would be happy if someone offered me the position.

Without further ado, here is a list of my favorite things, in no particular order:

  • Shout Wipes
  • Swiffer (regular)
  • Swiffer (Wet Jet)
  • The four-shelf organizer I got at Target for $10 recently (it was on clearance so you can't find any more, sorry). It has changed my life (or at least my mudroom)
  • Origins Checks and Balances facial cleanser
  • Irish Spring with Aloe bar soap
  • Matrix Sleek Look hair goo
  • Gain laundry detergent and fabric softener with the fancy scents. Apple-Mango-Tango! Yummy!
  • Clorox wipes
  • Puffs with lotion
  • Dansko shoes
  • Victoria's Secret bras and panties
  • MAC foundation
  • Voluminous mascara
  • Caribou coolers and Americanos. Starbucks sucks, sorry.
  • Dean's French Onion Dip. Accept no substitute!
  • Bath and Body Works antibacterial liquid hand soap
