Introducing...me

I have lurked long enough.  It is high time I greet you all properly with a little introduction.

I am a recovering attorney now SAHM with two little boys, ages 2 and almost 3 months.  If I had to label myself, I would be a bit of a slacker mom who wished for a bit more alpha in her style.  At this point, though, I would have a hard time going back to any job that would require more formal attire than jeans and flip flops.  

About 1 1/2 years ago, DH decided he had to get out of the big city, so we moved from Houston to a small Texas town. I have met some lovely people and have enjoyed the lack of traffic and crime, but we both agree this is not where we belong right now.  So we are in the process of looking for a house back in the city.  Of course, we have added another baby to this move.  And a cat.  Sigh.

I am a sudoku addict (great for those middle of the night feedings) and a travel fiend, having visited more than 30 countries and most of the states (ah, life before kids).  I listen to NPR religiously, consider myself craft-impaired, my house never quite looks "finished," and I am not much for shopping.  (You can see why I don't really fit into a small, conservative Texas town.)  I love a good hard thunderstorm.  I prefer non-fiction to fiction.  My "list" includes Dave Matthews, George Clooney (natch), and Jon Stewart.  

I am not the smartest or most interesting person you will ever meet, but I am fairly upbeat and friendly, and if you need to vent, I'm all ears.  I am thoroughly intimidated by all the brilliant comments you all leave and therefore rarely pipe up, but I am going to try to jump in there more often.
