Got you beat, SwissClogs . . .
Happiness all around!!
Milla Caroline was born April 17 (her due date!!) at 8:39 PM. She shot out so fast there was no time for an epi. She's wonderful and healthy, except for a touch of jaundice. She's nursing like a champ and has a head of brown hair, so I like to joke she's the postman's daughter (even more of a joke if you saw our postman). More later, too much to do around here.
What a wonderful time!
Update:
OK, here's how the birth went down. My cervix was completely closed with no change so my doc suggested a gel treatment. With my back pain, I was more than ready to give birth so I said sure. The gel set off 17 hours of back contractions, 5 minutes apart, which I knew was false labor, so I didn't bother to see anyone. I thought the contractions finally stopped so I went to get another gel treatment the next day, but found out that I actually was having contractions--I just couldn't feel them. So no second gel. And my cervix was still closed tight. After we got home from the hospital, I got out of the car and thought I peed myself. I was sort of slimy anyway from the exam, and was sort of embarrassed at the potential loss of bladder control, so I didn't tell anyone. But the little leaks kept up, and by the next day (after discussing with a friend of mine whose water had broken in a similar way), I was convinced that's what had happened. I already had a dr appt scheduled that morning, so he checked and sure enough my water had broken, I was 1.5 cm dilated and on my way the hospital. They started the pitocin at 1. I didn't even feel contractions until 5 or 5:30. At 7, I was still only 1.5 cm! Then things started fast and furious-- I was 4cm by 7:30 and by 8:30 she was born. No time for the epi-- but only a couple hours of really intense pain. They had to use a little vacuum when her heart rate dropped for a bit, but oncde they got her round the bend she basically rocketed out into the doctor's arms (so says DH)- -followed by a geyser of blood and guts that sprayed like a garden hose around the room (so says DH).
Funnily enough, the hospital was jammed packed-- they had trouble rounding up enough bodies to staff the delivery room, so some of the people attending weren't even in scrubs (sorry about that!). Lots and lots and lots of babies across the world these past few days!! The doctor basically handed me the baby, sewed me up quick, and had to run to the next room!
I had a 3rd-degree tear the first time, so a 2nd degree tear is like NOTHING. I feel great. Mil has jaundice, like her brother, but this time we have the awesomest doctor in the world who got her a state-of-the-art bili bed that fits into her bassinet, and she has been so, so, very good. I'm amazed at her nursing abilities-- her brother was a flunkie, and this confirms it really was him and not me! Plus, we've been mixing in some bottles of expressed milk (it's quicker than nursing, which means less time off the bed--good for her health at this point) and she has no nipple confusion at all.

We chose the name Milla because it met all of our criteria: short and phonetic with an eastern European origin. We chose Caroline because we both liked the name but not enough to make it a first name. I am really in love with the name now. It suits her.
