Thank you for posting this, Elisa.  What an interesting read. From that thread, and others, there would appear to be a general bias among the progressive and liberal community against the choice of home education.  Where does it come from?

When I read the thread I was surprised by the apparent bias (and misinformation).  My younger sister and I were homeschooled and each have our bachelor's degree.  That was the norm among the homeschoolers we ran with.  Most of the research also shows test scores far above their peers.  I think part of the issue was that the discussion turned to extremes and wasn't even about mainstream homeschooling but fringes.
