Okay, so I know papi blez already posted a diary, but dammit, we MotherTalker Runners know how to send our racers off in style!

So, let's hear it for Erika and Gloria, who are going to hit the pavement at stupid o'clock tomorrow and run/walk/race a full 13.1 miles -- a half marathon. In Disneyland, no less!!

watching "her girls" go off to the prom for the first time. So proud of you, ladies, for putting in all the hard work and training to get to this point. Enjoy this race tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you on my end!!!

Just got home after crossing the finish line. Details and photos to come...just wanted to say thanks again for all your good vibes, they helped tremendously as we were pounding that pavement!

I feel FABULOUS. SO glad I signed up!! Couldn't have done it without your advice and support.

Now, any tips on how to cool down/stretch so that I am able to walk tomorrow? :-)

CONGRATULATIONS!

hydrate - a lot - with electrolytes
get some protein and carbs
stretch - some yoga is good. hamstrings, hips, shoulders, etc.
i really really love legs up the wall pose - to help the blood flow out of my legs again.

DO NOT TAKE A HOT BATH tonight - if your tissues are inflamed/irritated, the hot water will only make it worse. (i learned this painful lesson after one of my first long workouts)
