Mother Talkers

BACK IN THE SADDLE***UPDATE

Mon Feb 05, 2007 at 01:44:29 PM PDT

Whoa, this will be a fast diary to say THANK YOU to all MTers for prayers, good thoughts and wishes for Treigh and our family.

I am finally able to get on this site again.  I was so frustrated not to be able to respond or see this site.

Thank you Elisa for your sweet post up for Treigh and our family!  She is scheduled for surgery February 7th early (sometime between 7am and 9am) in the morning.  The surgery is approximately 12-14 hours.  She won't know the exact time until tomorrow night.

I am leaving for LA tomorrow and will return in about a week or so.

So, I'm calling all MTers to send your positive thoughts for Treigh's return to good health and speedy recovery on Wednesday, early a.m. Pacific Standard Time.

If ever there was a powerful force of nature, it is the power of MOTHERS ( well all women, actually ).  Let's use it.

Thank you thank you thank you. ***************************************** Treigh's surgery was long and arduous but better than expected in many outcomes. She has no cancer in her soft tissue and other results are due in 5-7 days for bone/tumor results; doctors anticipate that her work and chemo have eradicated the cancer in her body. There were many aspects of the surgery that ended well for Treigh including less taken of vital nerves/teeth, etc. Her bone from her leg which is now grafted in her jaw seems to be doing well one and a half days post-op. She actually walked today with help. Her surgery was Wed/today is Friday. We are all over the moon for her and with her, but know she has a long hard recovery ahead of her and is feeling vulnerable, exhausted and challenged. I so appreciate all prayers, good wishes, positive energy sent through the mothertalker channels! GOOD WORK all the way around. I'm still in LA; back next week. Loving wishes with gratitude to all.

Having read Treigh's last post on her blog, I hope that the positive energy, prayers and hopes that we all are sending her makes some bit of difference. She (and you all) will very much be on my mind on the big day.

in the power of our minds and hearts.  I have been reading lots of books during the past year that support that thinking.  One author is Louise Hay.  She has written many books about our abilities to heal ourselves.  Another is titled The Seat of the Soul, by Gary Zukaf (sp?)..he was just featured on Oprah and I notice that his book is making quite a comeback right now.  I believe it was first in print in 1989.

I see the evidence that supports this way of thinking --- even if it is just in the here and now and how we embrace the experience of life every day.  It takes a lot of practice and staying "present" and can sometimes feel like hard work, but it is life-changing, imo.

Love knowing that MTers are rallying around in their hearts, and in this thing called cyberspace.  So very uplifting.

      Thanks Rachel <3  :>)

  • WONDERFUL NEWS (0 / 0)

So glad to hear the news about Treigh being cancer-free in the soft tissue; I am sure that the analysis of the bone will yield similar results.

I did not for a moment envision any other outcome than her coming out of surgery with good news, and now one shifts one's thoughts to RECOVERY (what a wonderful word!) and a long and healthy and happy life.

    xx

the week was so very intense --- i find it hard to even recall and think through everything that has happened in the past week.  it will be only ONE week this Wednesday since the DAY OF her surgery and she is due to be discharged from the hospital tomorrow!  WOW.
