How lucky we are in this country to have free speech so that people like Rush Limbaugh have a forum to share their brilliant views on any number of topics. His latest contribution is to accuse Michael J. Fox of either going off his meds for his apperance in Clair McHaskill's (D-MO) ads or "acting" out his symptoms.Below is the link which has a story off the AP wire.

I sincerely doubt he was acting and if he went off his meds,so what? My Mom has early onset Parkinson's and that is the reality of the disease,I cannot imagine anyone NOT being offended by this.

I saw the MJ Fox ad the other day, and it was like a punch to the gut. It's impossible to see it and not be moved. That's why Rush is trying to discredit it.
I'm glad when Rush and guys like him reach so far to try to smack down something undeniably powerful and true. I think that surely, when he reaches that far, one of his listeners/followers finally sees him for the desperate, pompous thug that he is and abandons ship.

There's no way someone would go off their meds just to make a political statement. I would imagine that could be dangerous too.
I think the fact is, he is sick and at the same time, very committed to the cause.
How dare Rush Limbaugh do that? Everyone has a soft spot for MJF!

  As I said in my earlier post my Mom suffers from Parkinsons . I know she takes a break from some of her meds on occasion because the meds themselves have some unpleasant side effects and apparently short "vacations" from meds aren't uncommon so it wouldn't surprise me if MJF did that from time to time,too. I agree that it's doubtful that MJF was doing something harmful to his health to film an ad but even if he was off his meds when the ad was filmed,what does it matter?That's what Parkinsons looks like and if seeing the stark reality of what life with Parkinson's is life without meds(and in advanced cases,even with meds) helps people understand the need for stem cell research then I'm all for it.

    You're right, even if he did go off his meds to show how bad the disease is (which I doubt he did), who cares? That's his choice and it's still his truth and if it helps people understand, more power and thanks to him.

Another reason to hate right wing republicans...seriously, you have no idea how much crap there is out there about those who "fake" illnesses....according to many of them, anyone who isn't dead or in the process of dying that moment is "faking". Its what makes it so difficult for anyone living with chronic health problems.

Lawdy Rush is a moron.
Several physicians have made statements explaining that Fox's movement is actually a side effect of the medication, that without the medication, he would actually be rigid and stiff and unable to move a lot of his muscles.
Beyond reprehensible, he's an absolute schmuck.

    total non-apology apology. Limbaugh says "If I was wrong," yadda yadda yadda. It would make my blood boil, but in a way, Limbaugh's bloviating actually helps the cause. No one likes to see a bully, and Limbaugh picking on MJF makes MJF look braver, and, by extension, stem cell research look like a better thing to support.
    Think of it this way: whose side would you rather be on - the bully who says MJF is "exaggerating" his symptoms, or the guy who says "help elect candidates who will support research that will help end this horrible disease."

Its amazing, just when you think Limbaugh has found the absolute bottom in vileness, he finds a new low. If MJF went off his meds, so what, that IS what Parkinsons looks like, devastating, awful and sad. I'll bet all these old white guys wouldn't be so against stem cell research if they thought it would give them the sexual performance of an eighteen year-old!
