This site is attempting to recreate the Diaries feature from the old site using a WordPress feature called Pages. These will show up on the Mothertalkers page on the right-hand side.
But before you post a diary, please read and adhere to the following:
MotherTalkers is a tight-knit community that has been around since 2005. We don’t take kindly to spammers or newbies who post without introducing themselves first.
If you are serious about becoming a member, please lurk and read our stories for content and tone. Then introduce yourself in a diary before delving in other discussions and/or posting a diary of your own.
Give it time. If people don’t respond kindly or in favor of what you write, please don’t take it personally. As in any relationship offline, it takes time for people to get to know you and see where you are coming from. We were all lurkers or newbies at one point.
If this sounds good to you, then here is how to post a diary:
Once you register for the site and log in, you can click on the Site Admin link to get into the editor.
Click on Pages -> Add New in the left navigation bar.
Create your “Diary” with title and body content.
Important!! On the right, under Page Attributes, change the “parent” to “Diaries”. If you don’t, it will not be shown on the homepage and you’ll have to come back into the editor to fix it.
Press Publish (or Update) when you are done.
That’s it! Now others should be able to click on your diary and add comments like any other posts.
Diaries will look and act exactly like this page.
