So sorry to hear this.  You should be proud of yourself for advocating for him, and proud that you asked for help.  It's not always an easy thing to do.  

I wonder if there is any way we can organize an auction of sorts?  So many talented people here that could donate things, and it might actually be fun.  Don't know if it's allowed, though -- what's the official word?
