I totally craved tomato juice. I'd grab my husband's V-8 can (he likes it too).

Also REALLY wanted fruit and dairy.

I didn't have morning sickness (don't get too jealous; I had nasty blood pressure problems later on in my pregnancy) but I did experience a strong aversion to meat during the first trimester. I remember walking into a Burger King on a road trip with my in-laws, thinking to myself "I can't handle this!" and running across the parking lot to a Taco Bell instead, where I got a bean and cheese burrito. Unfortunately, we were in the middle of the Arizona desert, where vegetarian options were far and few between...

The funny part is since giving birth, and it's been nearly two years now, the tomato juice and fruit cravings have by and large returned to normal levels, but I want fish almost all of the time. (Maybe my brain is trying to heal itself?)

It wasn't pleasant, but it was bearable and didn't really impact on my day-to-day living. I knew people who had it far worse than I did, so I just got on with it.

I also remember not being too crazy about red meat during the first trimester - too oily, too rich. Which is very rare for me. All my cravings have returned to normal; I hardly ever drink tomato juice anymore.
