Comments: Expand Shrink Hide (Always) | Indented Flat (Always)
We have never had "girls work" or "boys work" in my house. Its all just work...and we don't assume that anyone should particularly enjoy doing any of it. I'm particularly sensitive to the idea that girls should somehow "enjoy" housework...my whole life I've always been very resentful of that notion. Its that kind of thinking that gets most of it dumped on women....I think there are men who pretend to believe that to ease their guilt. But....I digress.
I will say it again...I'm still hung up on their clothing. Yes, I understand simplicity and modesty, but I find their lack of ability to express any individuality very creepy.

my DH speculates what those kids will be like when (if?) they leave home for the first time.

The oldest boy has to be about twenty now, right? Is he still at home?
