1. you can't be middle aged, because you are 7 years younger than me. I firmly believe that my parents will always be middle aged, which means I can be forever young
1. I enjoy political blogs but I won't comment there because either I am too thin-skinned or they are too harsh. Most of the time here we are not so harsh when we disagree.

    since I had them at 35. My SIL is my age but my niece and nephew are 20 and turning 18 this weekend. YIKES!

      my son was born seven days before my twenty-first birthday. Daughter came along a little over a year later.
      
      Choosing to have children at such a relatively young age was a gamble as I was pretty much a knuckle-head at the time. Not stupid or reckless, just a bit lacking in what some might call "common sense".
      
      Darn. I was going to argue that I'm much wiser now, and probably would be a better parent, but it just won't wash. At 35, my knuckle-head quotient is still embarrassingly high.

        Started in my early twenties. And now, I'm glad. I'm way to old and set in my ways these days to be able to do what it takes to deal with infants and small children.

  than mine - using ones parents as the yardstick for determining middle age. It's simple, easy to understand, and doesn't involve algebra.

  The funniest thing I ever heard between my grandmother and my father was when he turned fifty. He was moping and said "Now I'm middle aged!". My grandmother gave him that look (you know the one), and said "Oh? Are you planning on living to be 100?". I'm still giggling...
