Monday Morning Open Thread

What’s up?

This is awesome. How to deal with a mansplainer Hillary-Clinton style, courtesy of Feministing. Enjoy.

More awesomeness from the Mombian blog: Rhode Island is one step closer to marriage equality. A bill passed the state House and is now before the Senate. The governor there, Lincoln Chafee, has promised to sign it if it passes the Senate.

And now I am off to Las Vegas for work. I will be in the audience for President Obama’s announcement on immigration reform! I’ll be back home tomorrow evening.

What else is in the news? What’s up with you?

  1. aaaargh – one consequence of dry/cold weather is very tender skin – I now have cuts on BOTH thumbs – one from a piece of foil I picked up on the kitchen counter and one from the edge of my cell phone that I picked up funny. Neither SHOULD have cut my skin, but they did. :-(

  2. Elisa that is so exciting! I can not wait to hear the details – both on the news and from you.

No cavities at the dentist this morning for the kiddos, not a bad way to start the week. Other than that not much to report here.

  3. I got to hold and calm a screaming baby, and got him to sleep in my arms. My nephew, who’s 7 weeks old and SO STINKING ADORABLE.

  4. Hey ladies! If you have a minute, throw me some lucky vibes, would you? I have a big (for me) meeting in about 45 minutes that could result in actual commercial revenue for my magazine if it works out. I don’t feel nervous, because I’m confident in the magazine’s brand/content, and that the proposition has every chance of success, but I sure would walk even taller knowing I got y’all at my back!

    thanks!\
