How is everyone doing today? Me and my oldest are sick here with colds since Saturday, cough cough.

lousy
I’ve got bronchitis and DS is home all week on spring break. I’m trying to manage a three-year old, a three-month old and all I want to do is crawl into bed and go to sleep. When I signed up for this SAH business, I missed the part about how we don’t get any sick days.
I can still remember…
when I was a kid and my mom told me that “Mommies don’t get sick.”
Now I know what she really meant!
Hope you and NJMom get well soon.
now that you mention it
I can only remember one time growing up that my mother was sick. Other than that I can’t think of a time when she just had a cold. Can that be????
Feel better
Hope you feel better soon too. I am doing better today but my 4 yo is getting worse.
glad you’re better
i hope your little one recovers quick!
The father is….
Larry Birkhead is the father of Anna Nicole’s baby. Wow. I guess that’s not such a big surprise.
http://news.yahoo.com/…
Stern is not going to fight for custody.
I don’t even know why I have an opinion…
on this but I feel like he’s the better man to be her father. I know nothing about him really it just seems like he was so determined to be her father and really wants to raise her. Again, this is all from what I’ve learned while running at the YMCA where they don’t have the sound on the tvs… It just kind of seems like he genuinely wants to be her father rather than her trust fund guardian.
Agreed
I have no idea why.
He told us so…
yeah
but he’s still executor of the will… so he has his hand on the money in one way or another.
well the day started with liza falling down the
stairs. yup. one minute she’s all “what I want for breakfast” and the next she’s just bambambam! a whole flight. She could have broken her head…but she’s ok. I picked her up right at dismissal and took her home to soak in the tub…nothing broken or sprained (happily we already had a doc’s appt today) and she’s fine now …reorganizing her lip gloss upstairs. my heart may recover ina month or two.
I am leaving tomorrow for two nights in NH’s north country up on the canadian border for my leadership Nh program –we’re focusing on economic development in northcountry mill towns…. happy stuff..!
and in other news Liza opens in her first show this weekend — the JUngle Book for Kids with a local acting company where she studies. It’s a cute show — but 8 performances! ugh. I will be hearing “I wanna be like you” in my sleep forEVER
falling down the stairs
That is terrifying! Very good news that she’s okay though.
Hope Liza’s OK
What a scary thing to happen!
Have fun at your retreat! I remember last year you really enjoyed it.
Take lots of photos of the Jungle Book – can’t wait to see how cute Liza looks!
how’s this for a “falling down the stairs” story
My friend had just returned home from the hospital with her new baby. The next morning, her husband is carrying the baby in the car-seat baby carrier down the stairs at their home. Only — the baby is not strapped in! This three-day-old baby falls out of the car seat and tumbles down a whole flight of hardwood stairs!
Family rushes off to the doctor, who declares the baby fine. It’s five years later now and he certainly seems fine. I guess he probably didn’t know to tense up his little limbs as he was falling. But — poor little guy, and poor mom! Who needs that kind of heart attack right after you’ve given birth?
1st day of spring break for me
Of course, this “spring break” is really me just turning in vacation time at work in order to catch up on a whole pile of crap here at home that needs to get done. Vet appointments for the cats, ooodles of yard work, preparing a budget plan for my son’s non-profit travel ball baseball club, etc etc. I do have ONE nice appointment for a facial peel for me on Friday. Otherwise it is a ‘working’ vacation. I don’t mind though – I will feel more relaxed overall when these tasks are completed. Alex is on a real spring break from school and is attending a baseball camp, then spending the late afternoons with me until his dad can pick him up. So I get a little extra time with him too.
Spring break
here this week, too. My kids are griping because this week the temperature has taken a real nose dive while last week was absolutely beautiful.
recovering
I had surgery on friday — removed a 10 pound fibroid. Fortunately, my Mom’s here to help out — it’s hard to tell a 4.5 yr old not to jump on the couch and run to the refrigerator every time he wants some juice…
For as bloated as I am after surgery, I have to say it isn’t nearly as bloated as I was before…. I’m just more wiped out.
Feel better
A 10 lb fibroid…wow. Best wishes for a quick recovery.
Oh man
feel better.
wow
hope you are feeling much better soon!
Bah
feeling icky because, like a genius, I skipped two days of meds. And then this morning my DS twisted and wiggled just as I was picking him up and banged his head HARD on the sidewalk. He’s got a bruise and a bump; I’ve had my heart in my throat all day.
hanging in here
we’ve all been sick the weekend – a cold that’s gone from Jess to Daddy to Mommy. I’m not more than half sick – not more than slightly irritating. Jess has been completely miserable (not aided by the fact that she’s been teething the incisors. Fortunately, they’ve started breaking through the gums!), and DH, being typically male, has been moaning like the world is coming to an end. Why, oh why, do men revert to six years old when ill?
Last day of spring break!!
NYC schools have a week and a half off of school (all of Passover), and tomorrow is ~*~*~THE FIRST DAY*~*~ back to school! We’ve had a good break – combining some days off together, some days of child care, and one day of my DS7 coming to my office. As much as he complains, I think he’s ready to get back to routine. DD15 has gone from “I need to get away from my friends” to “I can’t wait to get back”.
At work, today was weird. I started off doing an evaluation for a little boy who DOES NOT have autism (yay!) and then ended the day seeing a little boy whose parents don’t want him to have autism (but I think he does). The last home visit of the day was a real drag for me – knowing these very nice parents have a long road ahead of them, and I may be the first person they can talk to openly about their fears.
Are colds contagious over the internet?
I’ve got both mine down with a cold or allergies right now, too. It’s not spring break, though, so that means lots of missed school and assignments, review for tests that they are missing [they might go back in time for the tests so we are studying].
UGH. Then I felt a little tickle in my throat this afternoon….and I am determined not to get sick!
Boy….fun week!
Sounds like misery is going around right now! I had my appendix out last Thursday in an emergency operation. Great fun with two little kids at home. The husband stayed home for a few days, but eventually had to go back to work. So I’m still sore, depressed from the general anaesthetic, tired, and generally miserable. And to top it off, my inlaws have decreed that dh has to go with them for a ceremony in Canberra this weekend (6 hour flight), so I’m home alone with the kids. The worst part of that is that we had tickets to a weekend long music festival. I’m not doing that without help!! So now I’m really grumpy. And while I was writing this post, the one year old decided to drink the pee that was in the three year old’s potty (why can’t my husband empty it after she goes?!!!). Argh!!! It’s gonna be a great day….
what a day
Sending good healing thoughts across the country!
Sick too
How come I get sick when my responsibility load peaks? I’m overwhelmed. Today I want to be mothered, not be the mother. WAAAAAHHHHH!
